While VIM relies heavily on cash and stock donations, there are many items needed by the clinic that do not require your checkbook.
In kind donations (contributions of equipment, supplies or other property as distinct from monetary grants) are much-appreciated at Volunteers in Medicine. There are many items that we can use constantly, and there are some items that we cannot use at all.
The following lists are suggestions of what VIM can and cannot accept:
ACCEPT
•Unopened or unused pharmaceuticals
•Drug samples that are not date expired
•Paper products for kitchen and restrooms (hand soap, paper towels, bathroom tissue, paper plates and cups, plastic utensils, paper napkins)
•Small new toys and trinkets for the pediatric (dental and medical) “treasure boxes” (for children who see the doctor, dentist or hygienist)
•Children’s books (new or used) for the children’s room
•New coloring books for children’s room and treasure boxes
•New crayons – we always need small boxes of crayons!
•Office supplies such as pens, copy or printer paper, paper clips, etc.
•Office furniture in good condition
CANNOT ACCEPT
•Sickroom supplies (walkers, commodes, etc.)
•Drugs and other pharmaceuticals that have been opened or used
•Older computers
•Large, bulky computer monitors
•Clothing
•Personal hygiene supplies
•Used stuffed animals

15 Northridge Drive during clinic hours. We will take information for you and mail you a receipt.

CLINIC WISH LIST
The staff and volunteers at VIM always keep a running list of supplies and equipment that is needed but not obtainable through the clinic budget. The following is the current VIM Clinic Wish List. We accept new or gently used equipment or donations of money to be applied to the list for purchase by VIM:

Regarding all of the above equipment: The existing equipment was used when we received it many years ago. We are literally holding it together with whatever we can. Total of all of the above equipment is $36,004.00 and is the greatest need in the dental department.

New Ultrasound Machine ($25,000)
The existing ultrasound machine is one that radiology volunteer Dr. Kathy Harris brought from McGee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr. Harris srved as Director of the Breast Health Program at McGee, and the hospital generously donated the equipment.Dr. Harris advises us that the equipment is now getting older and outdated, and she is concerned about its ability to last much longer. Dr. Harris volunteers 1.5 days per week to keep up with the demand for ultrasound procedures. She is the only volunteer physician we have who is able to perform needle-guided breast biopsies.

Connector between two buildings (I$20,000)
Continues to be an issue of safety and protection for our volunteers and patients especially those with walking difficulties or in need of walking support such as canes, crutches or wheelchairs. The existing path is slippery when wet.
Modular Office Furniture for Nursing Office ($3,500)
The nursing office has two desks, two chairs and three nurses. After working in the clinic during the day, the nursing staff returns to this office to make follow-up phone calls to patients, vendors and suppliers. They are in desperate need of serviceable furniture.

12 – $25.00 grocery store gift cards to be used as incentives in our weight-loss clinic ($300)
